Sanyo HIT in the United States production of solar cells

Sanyo on November 4, 2009, announced in the U.S. energy and technology parks Salem photovoltaic production plant put into production. The device is located in the United States, Oregon, Salem, will produce silicon ingots and silicon, namely, manufacturing Sanyo's proprietary HIT (has a thin layer of mixed within the junction type) solar cells and modules of the core material. The company said Sanyo would be set up per square foot photovoltaic solar energy into electrical energy the most efficient companies.

Initial production has begun, the device in April 2010 plans to reach annual production capacity of 70MW. Sanyo plans to build a new plant to meet future market growth in demand, the company's worldwide annual production capacity will reach 2010 at least 600MW.
