Del Monte to install 1.9-megawatt solar panel system

Del Monte Foods and SunPower Corp. 17 will be installed in the Del Monte and opening up two manufacturing plants to 1.9 megawatts of new solar systems. Combination of these two devices will become the Central Valley of California's largest rooftop solar system. The system is expected within 30 years will be reduced by more than 9500 million pounds of carbon emissions, according to US Environmental Protection Agency to provide determination of the conversion formula, which is equivalent to planting 9800 acres of trees or less in the California Highway near one billion miles driven. Del Monte is estimated that the system will be in the first year of operation of about 500,000 U.S. dollars to save the cost of electricity, and in its operation of 30 years of expected life of 25 million U.S. dollars will be saved.

The new solar system, including a total of 9,080 solar panels covering nearly 200,000 square feet of roof area, it is probably equivalent to the size of 3.5 football pitches. The system will be in the next 30 years to produce enough energy for about 7519 families with electricity.

SunPower Chief Executive Tom Werner said: "The SunPower system will Del Monte factory in the day-to-day needs of the highest moment to provide a clean and renewable solar energy, electricity demand in the highest price of the most expensive and slowed down when the pressure grid. We are Del Monte to significantly reduce operational costs and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of our content expressed appreciation for the commitment and vision. "
